Prolongation of the health measures for air travel to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg

Given the evolution of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus at the international level, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the Ministry of Health would like to inform of the prolongation of the health measures applicable since 29 January 2021 until 15 May 2021 included, for any travel by air to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Any person, regardless of nationality, aged 6 years or over, wishing to travel by air to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, must present the negative test result (on paper or electronic document)

• of a nucleic acid amplification tests of SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA - PCR (polymerase chain reaction), TAM (transcription-mediated amplification) or LAMP (loop-mediated isothermal amplification)
• or of a viral antigen test (in line with the World Health Organization criteria: Antigen-detection in the diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection using rapid immunoassays, Interim Guidance, 11 September 2020)

performed less than 72 hours before the flight by a medical analysis laboratory or any other entity authorised for this purpose. The negative test result must be presented, if necessary along with a translation, either in one of the administrative languages of Luxembourg, or in English. Documents in Italian, Spanish or Portuguese are now also accepted.

From 1 April 2021, persons traveling by air from a third country will however no longer have to undergo an additional rapid antigen test upon arrival at Luxembourg airport.

The testing obligations applicable to all persons wishing to enter Luxembourg by air are in addition to the temporary restrictions already in place for non-essential travel to the European Union.

In this context, it should be noted that the temporary entry restrictions for third-country nationals on the territory of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, implemented by the Grand Ducal regulation on temporary restrictions on immigration, are extended until 30 June 2021.
